A bull elk stands at the edge of a meadow during the rut. Due to their impressive antlers, bull elk are one of the most photographed animals in Yellowstone. Bulls weigh about 700 pounds and stand five feet high at the shoulders. Their antlers weigh about thirty pounds per pair.
