Adult buck and doe pronghorns near Gardiner are on the alert with a yearling standing between them. There are about 250 pronghorns in Yellowstone. While pronghorn numbers have rebounded throughout much of the western United States, their population numbers are down in Yellowstone. Fawn mortality rates are extremely high in Yellowstone.
