A large male grizzly whiles away the time as he rests near a kill he took from the Canyon Wolf Pack. It can get boring at times protecting an elk carcass. Grizzlies succeed in taking food away from wolves in most cases. During the fall when they need to gain as much weight as possible, they will follow wolf packs when they hunt and take over the carcass immediately after the wolves kill the animal.
