Grizzly Bear, Yellowstone National Park
This large grizzly boar took this bull elk from the Canyon Wolf Group/Pack immediately after the pack killed it. The bear then dragged the carcass into the trees and covered it with grass. This was in October when bears step up their eating to store enough calories to make it through the winter hibernation. This increased eating period in the fall is called "hyperphagia."
