A bald eagle roosts on a driftwood limb on the shore of Kachemak Bay. Female bald eagles are larger than males. Like most species, those living at the northern end of their range are larger than those at the southern end.. Body weight ranges from 10 to 14 pounds depending on sex and latitude.
