A bald eagle lifts up after grabbing a fish in Sadie Cove, Alaska. A bald eagle can lift about 4 pounds. They can eat about a pound of food in four minutes. A photographer told me he watched a bald eagle feed at a wolf-killed elk carcass in Yellowstone National Park. When one of the wolves returned to the carcass the eagle tried to fly away and couldn't because it had eaten too much. The wolf killed it. I have seen a golden eagle feed at length on a wolf-killed elk carcass and then try to lift off. It couldn't.
